　Each year, millions of people the world over are driven to forced displacement. From the Maldives to Brazil, and even closer to home, here in Canada, the disturbing accounts of people who have been uprooted are amazingly similar. The enormous pressure placed on rural populations as a result of the degradation of their life-supporting environment is driving them increasingly further from their way of life. The Refugees of the Blue Planet sheds light on the little-known plight of a category of individuals who are suffering the repercussions of this reality: environmental refugees. They are constantly growing in number and often have no legal status, even though their right to a clean and sustainable environment has been violated. In French with English subtitles.
 
     
導演簡介>>

　Hélène Choquette畢業魁北克大學蒙特利爾分校傳播系，投身電影與電視界逾十年，曾共同執導系列紀錄片《Marché Jean-Talon》與《Mon été au camping》，亦曾擔任多部知名紀錄短片之攝影師，如《La Dame aux poupées》與《Un cirque sur le fleuve》。
　 Jean-Philippe Duval為紀錄片導演，曾獲獎肯定，個人作品包括：S’en sortir (1989)、La Vie a du charme (1992)、L’Enfant des Appalaches (1996), Matroni et moi (1999)、L’École de danse (2002)、Wow 2 (2002)、Marché Jean-Talon (2003)，與Hélène Choquette共同執導作品：Get Me the Wedding (2003)、Marché Jean-Talon (2003)、Mon été au camping (2004)、Bonnes à tout faire (2005)。

　Hélène Choquette has a degree in communications from UQAM. She has been honing her craft in the film and television milieu for more than ten years. She co-directed the documentary series Marché Jean-Talon and Mon été au camping. She has also been director of photography on some noteworthy documentary shorts, including La Dame aux poupées and Un cirque sur le fleuve.
